Looking for an affordable summer filler for the family table? Pasta can take on many forms, but twisty, curly pasta always seems to keep the kids focused on meals around our picnic table. The Cookery likes gluten free Ancient Harvest Quinoa Garden Pagodas, but any pasta will do. Here’s our take on Pasta Pagoda:

Cook your favorite pasta, as directed. You know what we’re talking about, and we know who¬†our regular visitors are, even though you’re quiet. While the pasta is boiling, caramelize one sliced sweet onion and three cloves garlic in extra virgin olive oil. Toss cooked, drained pasta with the caramelized onions, garlic and warm olive oil. Fold in one can drained garbanzo beans, sliced black olives, chopped fresh cilantro and shredded parm to your liking. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve.
