With publishing credits in print and online, I’ve written about musicians, Olympic athletes, food artists and farmers. I currently write the food column Cook On: 1 part chaos, 2 parts calm for the award-winning publication The Highlands Current, recognized by the New York Press Association.
As a graduate of Southern Illinois University, I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in journalism and television and radio. I also earned a Master of Science degree in administration from Central Michigan University, where I researched the sustainability of digital journalism.
The Arts – From the Fine Arts to Performing Arts, readers are curious about the creative. From musicians to writers, henna designers to dancers, I illustrate cultural endeavors through my feature writing.
People & Places – What I love about reporting and writing is introducing a person or a lesser-known place for readers to discover.
Food & Family – The landscape of food stretches beyond our personal gardens. From food production to preparation, presentation to purchase, the topic of food presents itself as a critical discussion staple of our times.
Health, Wellness, Recreation & Sport – With a foundation in sports writing and editing, I combine my sports publication experience with an appreciation for healthy living to cover these fields.
